Software Business and Engineering Laboratory (SoberIT)

School of Science and Technology at Aalto University is the leading technical university in Finland with extensive international connections, including several education and research programs and projects e.g. within the EU framework. It is involved in developing the Aalto University “Service Factory” to an internationally recognized environment for multidisciplinary services education and research, in which the academic teams and projects as well as companies and communities work together.
 

Experts on eServices research

To eBEREA, AALTO provides expertise in services research, in particular in financial eServices, service modelling, mobile services and user driven service innovation, as well as legal and regulatory issues in eBusiness context. AALTO’s good contacts with eBusiness companies are valuable for empirical studies. AALTO has a central role in the objective to study how to improve the financial services offered to consumers and citizens in EU and China.

SoberIT is a laboratory at the Computer Science and Engineering Department. SoberIT research themes include business and management aspects of software production and of the use of ICT in industry. Related to eBusiness, SoberIT has considerable experience in research on technology support for networked business, mass-customized products and services, management aspects of open source, and the related business models and legal aspects. The laboratory strives for practically relevant and high quality academic research carried out in close cooperation with industry in a multi- disciplinary setting.
